Celeste and Jesse Forever: Sometimes

Plot: Celeste and Jesse are best friends who are together ALL the time, but are they together together, and should they be?!

Review: Celeste & Jesse Forever is a romantic comedy through and through, only the comedy is funny and the romance is real, genuine, and heartbreaking. Andy Samberg and Rashida Jones should probably just get married for real. I'd watch that reality show. It's also filled with childish adults, which is the biggest compliment I can give.

Best friend? I thought I was your best friend!

Gangster Squad: You Gotta Die Of Somethin

Plot: One gangster is getting too big for his L.A. britches. A few policemen, let's call them a rag tag squad, try to shut him down.

It's ok.
Review: It is disappointing, but not terrible. There are some cool moments, and Ryan Gosling does his thing to woo not only Emma Stone but the audience. The movie doesn't know what it wants to do. It's 78% film noir, 20% buddy/ensemble comedy [think Ocean's], and 2% Gosling acting cool. Maybe that 2% is enough for you.

Hey doll, sorry I'm killing everybody near you.

Zero Dark Thirty: Emphasis on the Dark

Plot: Terrorists hurt america and then America hurts the terrorists, specifically Mr. Terrorism himself, UBL.

With Caution.
Review: Zero Dark Thirty does everything well. It's well acted, it's well written, and it's well beyond terrifying when you remember it all happened. The explosions are real, the torture is real [depending on who you ask], and the awards flowing it's way are real and well deserved. When deciding to go see it, just remember, the "happy ending" is the murder of a real human person and his family. Enjoy!

What really killed Bin Laden? Beards!

Indie Game: The Movie: The Review

Plot: The creators of independent games show that making a game is no fun in a fun way.

Netflix
Review: I don't generally like documentaries, nor do I enjoy hanging out with hardcore gamers, but this film was charming. Seeing a game developer go from arrogant, to nervous, to depressed, to successful yet still depressed is disturbing yet powerful. Play on.
I don't know who I am!
